Don't get your hopes up for Trailer 3 this week

I've been seeing a lot of people convinced Trailer 3 is dropping this week because of the earnings call next week. I get the logic, but I'm not buying it.

Rockstar put out a GTA Online newswire last Thursday that covered two weeks of bonuses. That's not something they do often. It means they don't have to post anything this Thursday. Could be they're clearing the schedule for a trailer. Or it could just be a coincidence and they'll stay quiet.

Remember when preorders went live? They skipped the weekly GTA Online update entirely. That was a clear sign something big was happening. If they were planning a trailer this week, I'd expect a similar dead air. Instead we got a double update. That feels more like they're settling in for a quiet period, not ramping up.

And honestly, the idea that they'd drop a trailer right before the earnings call to boost preorder numbers... it makes sense on paper. But Rockstar doesn't really operate on that kind of logic. They move when they want. If they skip this week, the hype cycle gets even more unpredictable. People will stop trying to guess the pattern, and that's exactly when they'll strike.

I'm not holding my breath for a trailer this week. That double newswire reads like routine comms, not a tactical pause. Rockstar runs its own clock.

I'm more interested in seeing how LSPD and VCPD actually function. Show me roadblock procedures, or if they'll authorize PIT maneuvers at three stars. The first two trailers were all vibes. I want loadouts and pursuit AI in action. Even a short gameplay clip would do more for me than another cinematic cut.
