What if Rockstar's 'different approach' to marketing is just... less marketing?

Strauss Zelnick said they're taking a completely different approach to marketing this time around. Everyone's been trying to read the tea leaves on that, but what if it's simpler than we think? What if the difference is just... way less of it?

Think about it. The game is gonna sell itself. It's GTA 6. They could drop a single screenshot of a palm tree and break the internet. They don't need a six-month hype cycle with character trailers, gameplay deep dives, and a dozen screenshots every other week. Maybe the 'different approach' is just letting the game breathe and not spoon-feeding us every detail.

I keep seeing people say 'Trailer 3 has to be coming soon' like it's a given. But nobody at Rockstar ever promised us a third trailer. We got the first one in 2023, the second one in May 2025, and that might genuinely be it until launch. One more video, maybe a launch trailer, and that's the whole campaign.

Honestly? I'd be fine with it. I'm already sold. I know I'm gonna be in Leonida on day one, and the less I see beforehand, the more surprises I get when I boot it up. I don't need to know every feature, every minigame, every weird little detail. I want to discover that stuff myself. If they go radio silent from here on out, I'm good.

I'm totally down with this. Here in Brazil the hype already feels like World Cup final, we don't need more trailers to go crazy. Less marketing means more surprises when I finally land in Leonida. Maybe they show one more video before November and that's it. I already got my pre-order.

I'm so down with this! Flash FM always hit harder when you discovered it cruising Vice City. Let the needle drop!

I'm already behind on my backlog so less marketing suits me fine. I don't need another trailer to remind me November 19 is coming. Give me a launch spot and call it a day. Save the surprises for when I boot it up at midnight after the kids crash.
