house robberies are coming back and they sound way deeper than san andreas

Been chewing on that Edge Magazine feature since it dropped. One thing I keep coming back to is house robberies. Rockstar has done this twice before and both times it was a highlight.

San Andreas had the burglary missions you unlock through Ryder. Grab a black van, hit houses in a neighborhood, take whatever isn't nailed down, then offload it at a garage. It gave the game a real RPG loop that a lot of people still miss.

Then RDR2 went way deeper. No mission gating it, you just stumble into homes while exploring. Sometimes there's an old man and his son, sometimes a bear. You search drawers, wardrobes, under chimneys, and later sell the loot to fences. Those little encounters had consequences and surprises.

Now Edge is saying GTA6 lets you walk into random homes and they're "fully lived in." Photos of the people who live there, weapons sitting around, expensive personal stuff, pets. That alone is huge. But the part that's really clicking for me is the systems around it. Fences to sell to, trunk space, duffle bags, some kind of eagle eye to spot valuables, masks and bandanas, no timer when you're inside, longer nights, and the new wanted system.

Some folks on here were bummed when they heard the old San Andreas style B&E missions weren't coming back. I get it. But Rockstar took that mechanic and blew it open. You get freedom to case a neighborhood, pick a house, and deal with whatever's inside. No mission marker telling you to do it. That's the part I'm most hyped about.
