Those Vehicle and Assist buttons on the Ambrosia dash have me thinking about a used car market

Caught a closer look at the Ambrosia interior from the screenshots and something on the infotainment screen jumped out. Right there on the display you can see tabs for Vehicle and Assist. Not just a minimap or radio station, actual car management menus.

In GTA 5 you pull into LSC, pay a flat $250, and your mangled supercar is magically pristine. No questions asked. But if Rockstar is putting vehicle status screens in the dash, that old system might be dead. Imagine pulling up a diagnostic readout after a chase — oil pressure low, boost temps spiking, maybe even a check engine light. The Assist tab could be lane keeping or adaptive cruise for highway cruising across Leonida. Long drives from Vice City to Port Gellhorn would feel way less tedious with a basic autopilot, especially if you're trying to avoid attention.

What really gets me is the odometer. If the car tracks mileage, then a used car market starts making sense. Buy a beater with 120k on the clock for cheap, or pay a premium for something barely driven. The pre-order bonus already hints at a classic car pack, so Rockstar clearly wants us to care about collecting. Mileage affecting resale value would add a whole layer to that. Crash it too many times and the repair bill isn't just a token fee — it's based on actual damage. Bodywork, mechanical issues, maybe even a salvaged title if you really wreck it.

I'm not expecting a full automotive sim. This is still GTA, not Forza. But a little depth in the garage goes a long way. RDR2 made you brush your horse and feed it, and people loved that. A car that feels like it's yours, with quirks and history, would be the same energy. If the Assist tab is just a fancy way to toggle traction control, fine. But I'm hoping it's more.

High mileage beaters won't hold a line at speed. Suspension wear, brake fade, blown sidewalls. Suspects learn quick when their ride throws a rod.

If Rockstar models mechanical failure, evasion gets tactical. You can't just redline a junker across Grassrivers and expect it to stick.

The Assist tab worries me. Lane keep fighting you during a PIT? Adaptive cruise braking mid-chase? Disable that fast or you're cooked.

ok so that odometer theory is exactly the kind of small detail Rockstar loves to hide in plain sight. if high mileage actually makes handling worse i'm never buying used in Grassrivers.

Disable that fast or you're cooked.

having to babysit lane keep while you're trying to PIT someone sounds like peak stress. hope we can rip the whole module out for sketchy backyard builds.

A car that remembers every dent is basically a supporting character. I'm driving the beater with history.
