A heist where you print your own cash, but the longer you stay the harder it gets
Saw a post on the GTA6 subreddit that got me thinking about what kind of heists we might see in Online 2. The idea: a central bank where you can literally print money during the heist. You're not just grabbing a fixed pile of cash — you're running the presses and stacking bills in real time.
The catch? The longer you stay, the more heat you draw. Waves of cops or security get tougher, better armed, and more aggressive. You can bail anytime with whatever you've printed, but if you wipe, you lose it all. No partial payout, no consolation prize. Just a big fat zero and a wasted setup.
The OP threw out some rough numbers: one wave lasting 10 minutes could net you 150K, so about 900K an hour if you can survive. That's not crazy when you compare it to some of the current GTA Online businesses that can push a million per hour with the right setup. But the difference here is the risk is front and center — you're not just waiting on a timer, you're actively fighting to keep the money flowing.
I could see this working as a dynamic event or a full-blown heist in Vice City's financial district. Maybe you have to manage the printers, keep them from jamming, while your crew holds off NOOSE teams. The tension of deciding "one more wave or we bail" would be insane, especially if the payout per minute ramps up the longer you stay. Greed versus survival — that's peak GTA.
With the Kortz Center Heist dropping next week in current GTA Online, Rockstar's clearly still experimenting with heist formats. I'm hoping they bring that same energy to GTA 6's online, and a hold-out printer heist would be a perfect fit for the over-the-top Florida vibe. Imagine doing this in a hurricane or with a news chopper circling overhead, broadcasting your every move. The chaos would be legendary.
Anyway, I'm all for heists that don't have a hard cap on the payout. Let the players decide how much they're willing to risk. That's the kind of sandbox freedom that made the original heists so memorable.
