Frame Friday #111 is up — two themes this week and the close-ups are wild

Happy Friday everyone. Doubling up on themes today to pick up the pace a little. The detail in these new frames is nuts, especially when you zoom in. Rockstar's art team just doesn't miss.

Quick update on the PS5 fund: we hit almost exactly 200€ this week. I'm blown away, seriously. It's only about a quarter of the way there but it already makes the console feel real. Huge thanks to everyone who chipped in. If you missed it and still want to help out, the last Frame Friday has the info — I'm not dropping links in the posts anymore.

118 days to go. That number is starting to feel small.

Anyway, back to the frames. Two themes means double the stuff to overanalyze, and I'm here for it. What's the one detail from the website that you still can't get over?

I can't believe the detail in those close-ups. Looks just like coast here in Brazil.

I'm still stuck on how the wet pavement reflects neon in that one Grassrivers shot. It might just be baked lighting, but it seems like it could react dynamically if the weather shifts.

It's got me wondering if the tidal patterns stay consistent across frames. Has anyone checked whether the puddles match the cloud patterns elsewhere? The geometry on those close-ups might hold some clues.

puddles match the cloud patterns

they're not matching. they're mirroring... same texture, flipped. 118 days. the geometry holds.

the geometry holds

That puts the fund at about a quarter of target. Two trailers documented (Dec 2023, May 2025). 118 days until November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version is announced. I'm logging vehicle placements per frame, not puddle patterns.
