Trailer 3 in August — here's why I think it's happening

Been seeing a lot of people trying to pin down when Trailer 3 drops, and honestly the moon phase theories are getting a bit wild. I think there's a simpler way to look at it, and it points to August.

Rockstar's pre-order push started June 25th with the new screenshots and the Vintage Vice City Pack. That was round one, and it got a ton of people to lock in their copy. But they're not gonna just sit on that momentum for five months. They'll want a second big spike, and that's where a gameplay trailer comes in.

Trailer 3 is almost certainly the gameplay reveal. It's the one that shows off the new mechanics, the world, the stuff that makes people go "okay I need this day one." Drop that in August, and you get a massive second wave of pre-orders right when the initial hype from June starts to cool off. Two months between the pre-order opening and the gameplay blowout feels about right.

Then you've got September and October to keep the fire going with smaller marketing beats, maybe some hands-on previews, a few more screenshots, that kind of thing. November is way too close to launch for a major trailer. Nobody's dropping a big reveal two weeks before the game is out, it just doesn't make sense. So the window for Trailer 3 is really August to October, and August feels like the sweet spot.

I'd bet on the first ten days of the month. Rockstar likes Tuesdays and Thursdays, so maybe August 4th or 6th. Could be wrong, but the logic holds up. Save this post and we'll see.

What do you think, does August make sense or are we looking at something else?

August makes sense. You can't run REDLINE hype for five months straight without blowing something.
