is jason x lucia the only romance route or can they see other people

I keep going back and forth on this one. Rockstar said the romantic relationship between Jason and Lucia is optional, which is already a weird thing to wrap my head around for a duo protagonist setup. But they haven't said anything about whether either of them can get with other characters.

If the main pairing is optional, does that mean there are side romances for each of them? Or is it just a switch where they're either together or not, and that's the whole system? I'd be surprised if Rockstar built a full dating sim around two leads who are supposed to be this generation's Bonnie and Clyde, but then again they did say optional.

GTA IV and V had dating and booty calls and they were pretty forgettable. You'd call someone, go bowling or get drunk, maybe get a perk, and that was it. If GTA 6 does have other romance options, I hope they're more fleshed out than that. But if they're too fleshed out, the canon route might feel like the boring choice, and then what's the point of the duo dynamic?

Maybe the optional part is more about trust and how much they rely on each other, not about who they can sleep with. Like you can keep them distant and cold, or keep them close, and that changes dialogue and missions. That would make more sense to me than giving Lucia a boyfriend on the side while Jason is off doing heists.

What do you all think, would side romances ruin the Bonnie and Clyde vibe or would it make the game feel more alive?
