i think gta 6 combat is gonna be way more grounded, melee and small arms focused

That trunk rumor keeps rattling around my head. The idea that you can't just carry an entire arsenal in your back pocket anymore, that you'd have to stash rifles in the car and only keep a pistol or something concealed on you. If that's real, it changes everything about how fights play out.

Trailer 2 gave us a couple hints too. Lucia kicking that heavy bag, and the shot where someone gets their head slammed into a car door. Could just be a cutscene, sure, but after Red Dead 2 I'm not so sure. Remember how you could throw a guy through a saloon window if you positioned it right? Rockstar's been playing with environmental melee for a while. I'd love to see that expanded, using walls, tables, car hoods, whatever's nearby instead of just mashing the punch button.

It makes sense with the whole Bonnie and Clyde vibe. Two small-time crooks aren't gonna be walking around with RPGs and miniguns. You'd be grabbing a rifle off a dead cop or pulling a snubnose from your waistband. More improvisation, less pulling a rocket launcher out of thin air. I think that's the direction they're going, and honestly I'm here for it. GTA V's combat was fun but it got ridiculous fast. This could feel way more intense.

I'll miss the chaos of spawning a tank in the middle of a highway, but if the tradeoff is fights that actually feel dangerous and personal, I'm good with that. Just hope they don't overdo the realism and forget it's still GTA.
