jason being stoic is on purpose, he's basically claude 2.0
Been seeing a lot of "Jason is boring" takes and I think people are missing the point. He's not supposed to be some loud charismatic lead. Look at Claude from GTA 3. Quiet, barely says anything, but there's a lot going on under the surface. I'm convinced Rockstar did that on purpose with Jason.
If you draw parallels between Jason and Lucia and Claude and Catalina, there are differences but also some clear similarities. Claude had that stoic thing, quiet but with a piercing rage when it mattered. Jason's facial expressions in the trailers always show him upset or dealing with internal conflict. His flat voice kind of reinforces that. I think the flat delivery is a deliberate choice.
The story is probably a revenge thing. Rockstar has been gatekeeping the actual plot from the trailers so far. They don't want to give it away. So when people say Jason seems boring, they're judging a character without knowing what he's actually reacting to. GTA stories have always been more poetic and large scale than people give them credit for. If you're too young to remember Claude, you might not see it.
The stoic archetype is definitely there, even if Jason isn't a literal copy of Claude. And it makes sense for a Bonnie and Clyde style story where one half is more reserved and the other is more explosive. Lucia seems to have the bigger personality in the footage we've seen, and Jason holding back could be the whole point.
Do you think Rockstar is hiding a revenge plot, or is Jason just actually flat?
