npc flirting and cheating mechanics, is that a thing rockstar would do?
After watching the extended look and seeing how much detail they put into npc behavior, I keep coming back to this. Jason and Lucia are both good looking, and Vice City is basically a party town. It would feel weird if random people on the street never hit on them. Like, you walk past a beach bar and nobody says anything? That breaks the realism they're going for.
So I'm wondering if Rockstar actually built in a flirting system. Not just npcs catcalling, but actual chances for Jason or Lucia to cheat on each other. Would it be a random event, or something you can trigger by hanging around certain spots? And if you do cheat, does it automatically damage the relationship, or only if the other one finds out?
The phone thing is interesting too. What if you cheat too many times and your partner sees something on your phone? Like a text or a photo. Then you're screwed. That would be a cool way to make it feel real without forcing a cutscene every time. But it also assumes you're pursuing a romantic relationship between them in the first place. Maybe you can keep it strictly business and it never comes up.
Rockstar pushed the RPG realism and npc behavior so far with this game, I wouldn't be surprised if they went there. But it's also a fine line. Too much relationship sim and it stops feeling like GTA. Too little and the world feels dead. Where do you think they landed? Would you want a full cheating system with consequences, or is that overcomplicating things?

Everyone's arguing relationship meters and I'm over here asking the real question. Who keeps the car. If Jason cheats and Lucia drives off in his tuned build, that's REAL consequences. Betrayal hits different when you lose the ride you spent hours building. Forget the drama, I want a custody battle over a slammed coupe.
