I'm betting on a 40-45fps performance mode for GTA 6 on PS5 Pro

Rockstar always pushes hardware to its limit, I get that. But I just can't see them shipping GTA 6 at a locked 30fps on PS5 Pro in late 2026. RDR2 made sense at 30 because it's a slower game, horses and all. GTA 6 though? Fast cars, high-speed chases, all that chaos. It'd feel rough.

I think we'll get some kind of performance mode that hovers between 30 and 45fps, maybe even a 40fps cap for 120Hz displays. The Pro has the headroom for it. Rockstar isn't gonna leave that on the table when they know half the playerbase is gonna be screaming for smoother frames.

Already locked in my Ultimate Edition pre-order on PS5 Pro. November 19 can't come soon enough. I'll be the one tearing down Ocean Beach with the top down, frame rate be damned.

What's your guess, are we finally getting an uncapped or 40fps mode on consoles this time around?

Neither confirmed trailer (Dec 2023, May 2025) displays performance metrics. I've logged vehicle counts for both, but frame rate targets aren't listed anywhere. Rockstar hasn't announced PS5 Pro modes, and past console releases targeted 30fps. A 40fps cap remains speculation until official specs release.

A locked 40fps mode would change how I build driving loadouts. Stutter costs more than low res in a chase.
