frame friday 123: jason's military side finally gets some love

Caught up on Frame Friday #123 this morning and the launch trailer from yesterday already had me wired, but these four frames hit different. We're a little over a month out and Miami's gone full Vice City mode on every corner, so it's getting real.

The picks this week are all about Jason in his military role or some kind of special operations setup. We haven't seen much of that side of him in the official stuff so far, and I didn't realize how much I wanted it until now. If the stealth system is actually decent this time around, those missions could be the sleeper hit of the whole game. GTA has always had stealth as an afterthought, but the way they're framing these shots makes me think Rockstar finally put some real work into it.

What gets me is the variety. One minute you're doing military work, next you're out with the girls, then you're racing hillbillies in the sticks. That range is exactly what I wanted from a modern GTA. Not every mission needs to be a set piece. Sometimes I just want to creep through a compound and take guys out quietly, then go get a drink.

Four more Frame Fridays before launch. That's wild to think about. If they keep dropping frames like this, the next month is going to crawl by. I'm genuinely more excited for Jason's side of the story now, which I didn't expect after Lucia stole the show in the first trailer. Rockstar might actually pull off the two protagonist thing properly this time.
