11 games and announcements that got us excited in the latest Galaxies Showcase

Eurogamer dropped their usual roundup of the Galaxies Showcase, and the opening line basically says the whole industry is tiptoeing around GTA 6 like it's a sleeping bear. Can't say I blame anyone. November 19 is close enough now that announcing anything big feels like walking into traffic.

The showcase itself ran nearly two hours. I didn't catch it live, but the full VOD is up on YouTube if you've got the time. Eurogamer pulled out a handful of announcements that stood out to them, not a full recap. The intro even jokes that the whole thing might have just been an excuse for one of their writers to talk about penguins. Not sure what that's about, but it got a laugh out of me.

What's interesting is how quiet everything feels around GTA 6. We're a month out and other publishers are either delaying or just not competing. I keep seeing people say the industry is holding its breath. This roundup kind of confirms that vibe. Even a two hour showcase full of announcements apparently didn't produce anything that made Eurogamer want to lead with it over the GTA 6 shaped elephant in the room.

I'm not saying every game needs to run scared, but when a site's roundup opens with "everyone is giving GTA 6 the widest berth imaginable", that's a sign. Rockstar has the whole calendar on lock. I'd love to know if any of those 11 announcements actually felt like something you'd play before November 19, or if it's all just filler until the real thing drops.

Did anything in that Galaxies Showcase actually catch your eye, or are we all just counting down the days?
