gta 6 graphics vs linear games, people keep missing the point
Saw another one of those posts today comparing the Extended Look to some linear game and I just had to say something. People keep putting GTA 6 next to games that are basically on rails and acting like it's a fair fight. It's not.
Linear games can push graphics way harder because everything is pre-scripted. The devs know exactly where the player will be, what they'll see, what's going to happen. They can bake in lighting, use crazy detailed assets, whatever. There's no freedom to account for. You walk down a corridor, a cutscene plays, you shoot some guys, next corridor. That's it.
GTA 6 is a whole different beast. You can go anywhere, do anything, at any time. The game has to render a massive open world with dynamic weather, traffic, NPCs, all that stuff, while still looking incredible. And from what we saw in the Extended Look, it does. The fact that Rockstar pulled that off in an open world is way more impressive than any linear game's graphics.
So no, don't compare them. It's apples to oranges. GTA 6 has the best graphics of any current open world game, and honestly probably any game period when you factor in the scale. The haters can cry all they want, but the comparison is just lazy.
