Push Square's October game of the month went to Phantom Blade Zero, and yeah, the timing checks out
Push Square put up their Game of the Month vote for October and Phantom Blade Zero took it. Reader-voted, so that's the community speaking, not just one editor's pick.
What got me was how they framed the whole thing. October, as they put it, is basically the month before GTA 6. That's the mood now. Every release between here and November 19 feels like it's playing in the warmup slot, and October was stacked on top of an already packed September.
Which makes a reader poll kind of interesting this year. Normally you'd wonder if people were even paying attention to anything else. Apparently they were, and Phantom Blade Zero came out on top of a busy month.
I'll be honest, my own backlog situation is grim. There's stuff from September I haven't touched and here we are a couple weeks out from launch. Part of me wants to power through one more big game before Leonida eats my entire life. The other part of me knows I'd bounce off it the second the preload finishes.
Anyone else doing the math on what they can realistically finish before the 19th? Or are we all just killing time and refreshing the Rockstar site at this point?
