Buy Games On Prime? Your Membership Now Gets You Free Uber Eats Delivery, Too

So Amazon and Uber just announced a partnership, and if you're a Prime member in the US you now get free Uber Eats delivery on orders of $25 or more. You order through Amazon's site or app instead of the Uber Eats app, which is a little weird but whatever. The perk also works for Prime for Young Adults and Prime Access tiers.

There's a launch promo too: $20 off each of your first two orders of $25 or more, but that ends November 18. Which is, uh, one day before GTA 6 drops on November 19. Funny timing if you ask me.

why this matters for us specifically

Look, I know this is a food delivery story and not a GTA story. But GameSpot framed it exactly the way I would: order some wings or a burrito after buying GTA 6, all from one app. That's the whole pitch. Amazon does these partnerships to keep you subscribed, and honestly, if I'm going to be glued to my couch in Leonida for the first week of launch, having delivery baked into the same app I already use is kind of a no brainer.

Launch week is going to be a mess of snacks, energy drinks, and zero sleep. Anything that cuts down on the number of apps I have to juggle while I'm mid-mission is a win in my book.

the caveat

GameSpot also points out that Amazon isn't perfect for buying games. Nintendo fans are apparently furious right now because Amazon delayed their Ocarina of Time remake deliveries. So if you're planning to pre-order GTA 6 through Amazon and expect it on your doorstep on day one, maybe don't count on it. I'd still go digital or pick it up in person if you want to be playing the second it unlocks.

how to actually set it up

Per Amazon, here's the gist:

  • Go to www.amazon.com/ubereats or open the Amazon Shopping app and search "Uber Eats"
  • Log in with your Amazon credentials, browse nearby restaurants, and place the order with your saved Amazon payment method
  • Amazon sends you email and push notifications for delivery status, then Uber Eats sends the final confirmation

Nothing groundbreaking, but it works. I'll probably use it once during launch week and then forget the feature exists, which is how I treat most subscription perks anyway. Still, free delivery is free delivery, and the $20 off window lines up perfectly with the game's release. Take the free food money while it's there.
