GameSpot is mad that Jason doesn't wipe down the bench after he lifts, and honestly I'm with them

So GameSpot ran a piece about the new batch of screenshots and zeroed in on one thing: Jason working out with no shirt, no towel, and apparently no shame. The writer is genuinely grossed out about it and I can't stop laughing because it's such a stupid thing to fixate on and yet completely correct.
The gist is that the game looks scary realistic this time around. Actions have consequences, relationships take actual effort, and getting big means you have to hit the gym. All that simulation and then the man is bare-chested on the bench press with nothing to wipe it down with. Vice City is hot, sure. That's not a pass.
I cannot imagine how much disinfectant you'd need to clean up that rack when Jason is done with it.
No sweat towel either. The writer points out the next unlucky person using that rack is getting a puddle, and yeah, that's the part that got me. Maybe it's a home gym. Doesn't matter. That's still no way to behave in your own house. And if it's a public gym, the NPCs standing nearby are catching something.
it's a joke but it's also kind of the point
Here's the thing that actually landed for me. If Rockstar is going to spend years sweating the tiny details, then people who are about to drop $80 are allowed to pick at the tiny details right back. That's the deal. You put a visible gym routine in the game, someone's going to notice the hygiene situation. The article even cops to reading way too much into it, which I respect.
There's also a bit in there about whether all this realism adds up to a game that can hang with the best reviewed stuff of the year. I don't really care about that argument. I care that Jason looks like he could bench a small car and also like he'd leave the bench slick enough to ruin someone's day.
For what it's worth, I'd bet there are shower or hygiene options somewhere in the game. It's the kind of thing that fits the direction they're going. But until I see it, Jason is a gym menace and I'm going to keep bringing it up.
