Pre-order gift card amount for GTA 6 in Texas — how much after tax?
So I'm trying to sort out a birthday present for my boyfriend and I'm a little lost. I wanted to pre-order GTA 6 for him, but I'm in a different country right now and the store won't let me do it for his account. My backup plan is just sending him a gift card so he can pre-order it himself.
Here's where I'm stuck: I know the Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99, but I have no clue what the final total looks like after taxes. He's in Texas. I was gonna send a $100 card, but if the Ultimate Edition ends up being like $108 or something after tax, that's gonna be awkward. Should I just play it safe and go for a $125 card?
I know some states don't tax digital purchases, but I'm pretty sure Texas does. Anyone here actually pre-ordered from Texas and can tell me what the checkout total was? I don't want him to have to cover the difference on his own birthday gift, that's just sad.
Also, is there any other way to gift a pre-order across countries that I'm not thinking of? I know the Vintage Vice City Pack is a pre-order bonus, so I'd rather he gets that than just buying it after launch.
What's the move here — $100 or $125? Or is there a better option I'm missing?

I'm not in Texas but here in Brazil we always get some tax surprise on checkout, so I would go with $125 card just to be safe. Better he has some spare money than need to pay extra on his own gift. You can ask him to check fake checkout on the store too, hehe.
texas state tax is 6.25% but most cities throw local on top, so youre usually paying around 8-8.5%. that puts the ultimate edition at roughly $108. $100 wont cover it.
send the $125 card. if he goes standard instead thats extra cash for rp server subs or whatever. cross-country gifting through the stores is more trouble than its worth.

Cross country store gifting is basically impossible now. Region locks are brutal. Gift card is honestly your best shot, and you definitely want him getting that Vintage Vice City Pack. Pre-order bonus is half the reason to buy early.
