october is packed with releases trying to dodge gta 6 and i'm here for it

Gamespot put up their October release roundup and it's pretty obvious what's going on. Everyone wants their game out before November 19, because once GTA 6 drops, good luck getting anyone to pay attention to anything else for a while. Can't blame them.

Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered hits October 1 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. They rebuilt it in Unreal Engine 5 and tweaked some gameplay. If you've never played the musou stuff, it's the kind of game where you mow down a small army by yourself. Perfect for turning your brain off while we wait.

Same day, Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition drops on PS5. It's $70 and bundles the base game with the new Echoes of Sekigahara expansion, that combat survival mode, the Legends co-op thing, and all the Digital Deluxe extras. If you held off on Yotei, this is probably the version to grab.

Ace Combat 8 Wings of Theve follows on October 2 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Project Aces is doing the usual dogfight campaign stuff, climbing ranks, taking out targets. Not really my genre but I know people who swear by these games.

Gamespot's list has more beyond those three, but you get the idea. October is loaded because nobody wants to be the game that launches the same week as GTA 6. Smart move. I'll probably use the month to clear my backlog and maybe grab Dynasty Warriors if I need a break from refreshing for GTA 6 news.
