Ex-GTA dev believes Rockstar won’t be adding anything new to GTA 6 right now

Saw this over on Dexerto. Mike York, who used to work at Rockstar, was talking about where the team likely is right now with GTA 6. His take: they're not adding anything new anymore. Just polishing and bug fixing until launch.

Makes sense honestly. We're less than four months out from November 19. At this stage you're not gonna be throwing in new mechanics or rewriting systems. It's all about making sure what's already there actually works. He mentioned that the game is probably "content complete" and they're just squashing bugs, optimizing performance, stuff like that.

I remember reading similar things about RDR2's final months. The crunch was brutal but it was all polish, not feature creep. Rockstar's known for that insane attention to detail so I'd rather they spend these last months making sure the AI doesn't break and the framerate doesn't tank in Port Gellhorn.

Still, part of me wonders if there's anything they might still be tweaking. Like the wanted system or the economy. Those are things that could probably be adjusted without breaking the whole game. But I guess that's what day one patches are for lol.

What do you guys think? Is there anything you're hoping they're still working on, or are you just praying for a smooth launch at this point?
