GTA 6 at 60fps is "unlikely" on console and will be "genuinely challenging" on PC, tech analysts say

GamesRadar just put out a piece where tech analysts are saying 60fps on console is unlikely for GTA 6. And on PC it's going to be "genuinely challenging" to hit. I was holding out hope that Rockstar would pull off some magic with the PS5 and Series X, but nope. Sounds like we're locked to 30fps on console.

I get it, the game looks insane. The extended look showed off a ton of detail, and Digital Foundry already called it the most impressive real time rendering they've ever seen. But still, after playing GTA 5 at 60fps on current gen, going back to 30 is going to hurt. Especially for a game this big.

And the PC side is even more annoying. No PC version announced at all, and now analysts are saying even when it does come, hitting 60fps will be tough. What kind of rig are we going to need? A 5090? Two of them? I'm not made of money.

I remember when GTA 5 came out on PS3 and 360 at 30fps and nobody complained because that was normal. But now we've been spoiled. RDR2 on PS4 Pro was 30fps and it felt fine, but that was last gen. This is supposed to be the new generation. I thought 60fps was the baseline for most games now, but Rockstar always pushes the hardware to the limit.

Maybe they'll do a performance mode like some other games? 1080p 60fps? But the analysts are saying unlikely, so I guess not. Or maybe they'll patch it later. Who knows.

What do you all think? Are you okay with 30fps if the game looks this good, or is that a dealbreaker for you?
