Everything confirmed about GTA 6 animals so far

GamesRadar just put up a piece saying there will be over 170 different animal species in GTA 6. That number is ridiculous for a GTA game, and I don't think enough people are losing it over this.

We've known Leonida has swamps, the Keys, and a big national park type area around Mount Kalaga. But 170+ species means Rockstar went full zoo mode. I'm imagining gators in the Grassrivers, flamingos down in the Keys, maybe some panthers in the backwoods. The article doesn't list every animal, just the total, but it's enough to get the imagination going.

GTA 5 had wildlife but it was mostly background noise, a deer here and there, sharks if you swam out far enough. If GTA 6 is pushing past 170, it sounds like animals might actually matter this time. Hunting, fishing, pet dogs, whatever they're doing with that cop dog thing from earlier, it all starts to feel like a real system.

I'm also wondering how this plays into the map size. 170 species need habitats, and if Rockstar really built out the Everglades style wetlands and the Keys, there's room for a lot of that. Makes me want to just ignore the story for the first few hours and go looking for rare birds or something.

What animal are you hoping makes the cut and actually does something interesting in Leonida?
