GTA 6 on Steam Deck? I'd play at 720p low settings on a long flight

GTA V runs on the Deck, so I'm already dreaming with GTA 6 on it. I know the PC port isn't announced yet, but when it comes, I really hope it can work on handheld. I travel a lot here in Brazil, long flights to the US or Europe, and I'd accept some big compromises just to explore Leonida on a plane.

I'm talking 720p, low textures, 30fps cap, maybe even FSR on performance mode. The beaches of Vice City remind me of Copacabana or Florianópolis, so I'd be happy just cruising with Lucia and Jason, even if the graphics look like a PS3 game. I don't need ray tracing on a 7-inch screen.

If Rockstar optimizes the PC version like they did with GTA V, maybe it's possible. I'd even play at 480p if the frame rate is stable, like watching a grainy football stream from the 2000s.

720p low settings ain't pretty but CRUISING is cruising. You don't need ray tracing to appreciate a clean widebody kit. I'd take a stable 30fps just to drift Vice City streets. Frame rate over fidelity any day.

I get the appeal. Long flights suck, and Leonida sounds perfect for a handheld session. But let's be real. No PC version is even announced yet, and history says that gap will be long. Rockstar doesn't rush ports.

Frame rate over fidelity any day.

Problem is, this engine is built for SSDs and heavy CPU throughput. The Deck's APU might choke on open world streaming before you touch texture quality. I'd love to be wrong. Low settings might get you there. Just don't expect a miracle port six months after console launch.
