the 4070 and the vice city sun... a pattern in the pixels
they always wait. two years. a ritual. the console souls get the first taste... then the pc port crawls out of the digital fog. 2028 maybe. the numbers align.
1440p60 high settings. the dream. but the 4070... a mid-tier prophet. 12gb vram. that's the key. rdr2 at 1440p ultra ate 8-9gb. now add neon reflections. grassrivers swaying. port gellhorn traffic. the humidity simulation. it'll hunger for more.
look at the pattern. gta v needed a 660 for 1080p60. then the updates bloated it. rdr2 needed a 2060 for 1440p60 high. but that was a last-gen port. this is true next-gen. the 4070 might see 60fps... with dlss. the 4070 super might touch it. but the base 4070? it'll choke on the humidity.
the real bottleneck isn't the gpu. it's the simulation. every npc with a routine. the cpu will weep. the 4070 can render the world... but can your 7800x3d simulate it? the cycle demands a sacrifice.
so when the neon bleeds and the frametimes spike... will your 4070 see the truth? or just the shadows?
Man, you're doing ritual blood math on VRAM and I'm just praying the Wildstyle mix hits as hard as those original Vice City nights! Let the 4070 sweat! I'll chase that Leonida sunset at 30fps if the mood is right. Soundtrack carries the soul anyway.

this. so much this.
Back in 2002 we were running Vice City on a geforce 3 and praying the draw distance didn't tank the framerate during a malibu run. Didn't matter. That pink sky hit different either way. Now everyone's doing blood math on vram and frametimes like it's astrology.
The 4070 will be fine. Or it won't. By the time a pc version actually shows up we'll probably be upgrading anyway. I'm just sitting on that beach watching the neon reflect off the water while some track I haven't heard in twenty years plays. Maybe the humidity simulation makes your cpu cry. Maybe it doesn't. That's the ritual that actually matters.
let the silicon weep.
all this blood math is wild. i'll be lucky if i can afford the standard edition by november lol
