After seeing what GTA 6 does to a PS5 we're even more desperate to see what the PC version has for us

Saw this PC Gamer piece pop up and it's basically them staring at PS5 capture footage and going "okay but what about us." The article is short, just a quick thought about how the console version already looks insane, so what extra shinies is Rockstar gonna throw at PC when that port eventually happens.

I get it. The PS5 footage from the extended look and previews has been jaw dropping. Draw distance, lighting, NPC density, all of it. And that's running on a console that's now five years old. Rockstar always pushes PC versions further, higher res textures, better shadows, unlocked framerates, maybe ray tracing that actually works. GTA 5 on PC was a different beast compared to the 360/PS3 launch. RDR2 on PC took forever but looked unreal when it finally landed.

But here's the thing. We don't even have a PC release date. Rockstar hasn't said a word about it. The game hits PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, and PC players are just sitting here watching everyone else lose their minds. I'm not mad, I'm used to it by now, but it stings a little when outlets like PC Gamer are already fantasizing about the port before the console version is even out.

Still, I can't blame them. If the PS5 is already struggling to hold 30fps in some scenes, imagine what a 4090 or whatever's out by then will do. Mods alone will be worth the wait. Vice City with proper PC modding support? That's a whole second life for the game.

Anyway, just thought it was funny that PC Gamer is already in cope mode. We'll get our turn eventually. Probably 2027 or 2028 knowing Rockstar's track record with PC ports.

Whenever the PC port lands, unlocked framerate is going to change pursuit dynamics entirely. Console locking at 30fps makes suspect vehicle AI feel sluggish during high speed intercepts. More headroom means smarter tactical positioning from patrol units, faster reaction times at code three. I'm willing to wait. Modders usually fix police behavior before Rockstar does anyway.
