I was thinking about this while walking here in brazil, the beach cities like Santos have that slow, relaxed rhythm. Rockstar is same with PC ports, no? GTA V took 18 months, RDR2 was 13. They are getting faster, but Leonida is huge, more systems than a football team trying to play tiki-taka. I say 14 months after console, so maybe January or February 2028. The money from PC is like a World Cup final, they cannot ignore it.

But the real question: Steam day one? I don't think so. RDR2 launched first on Rockstar Launcher, then Steam one month later. They want to keep that 100% cut. My heart wants Steam with pre-load and achievements, but my head says we will be refreshing the Rockstar launcher for weeks. Here in Brazil we are used to waiting for good things, like a cold beer on a hot beach. What you all think? Will they finally do a simultaneous Steam release or make us suffer again?

Historical gaps are shrinking. GTA V's PC drop was roughly 18 months out (April 2015). RDR2 narrowed that to about 13 months (November 2019). Twelve to 14 months past the November 2026 console date lands you in late 2027 or early 2028. Rockstar hasn't announced PC though, so it's all just math on a calendar.

They want to keep that 100% cut.
RDR2's Rockstar Launcher debut followed by Steam roughly one month later supports that. Your timeline tracks. History points to another staggered storefront rollout. Achievements and pre-load are secondary to the revenue pattern they've already tested twice now.

Stat_soup already ran the calendar so I won't repeat the dates. I'm here for the margin math. Steam takes 30% off the top. At $79.99 Standard, that's roughly $24 per copy left on the table. Multiply by a few million and that's break-even on a whole DLC cycle before the first patch drops.

Rockstar Launcher first is just good business. Same playbook as RDR2. One month of full margin, then they let Steam have it and grab the stragglers. I've run enough MC businesses to know you sell to the highest buyer first. Achievements aren't worth leaving eight figures on the table.

My bet is January 2028 for PC, Rockstar Launcher exclusively for the first four to six weeks. At $79.99 Standard, that's $24 extra per copy in their pocket before Steam gets its cut. Move a million units in that window and you're already up $24 million.
