When will Rockstar actually talk about PS5 Pro enhancements for GTA 6?
I'm stuck in that same loop right now. Do I grab a regular PS5 or shell out for the Pro? The game's out November 19, pre-orders are live, and we still don't have a single official word on what the Pro version does differently. No resolution targets, no framerate modes, nothing. Just the standard "captured on PS5" footnote from the trailers.
Rockstar's history with this stuff is a mixed bag. For RDR2, they didn't detail the PS4 Pro enhancements until about a month before launch, and even then it was mostly through a Digital Foundry preview and a brief PlayStation Blog post. GTA V on PS4/Xbox One got a similar treatment, details trickled out a few weeks ahead. They rarely make a big standalone announcement for console-specific features. It's usually buried in a launch week FAQ or a press preview event.
Other devs sometimes spill the beans earlier, but Rockstar plays things close to the chest. I'd bet we won't hear anything official until late October or early November, maybe when review embargoes lift. That's when the tech breakdowns start popping up. If you're trying to decide now, you're basically gambling. The Pro will almost certainly run it better, but how much better is the question. A locked 60fps mode? Higher resolution? Better ray tracing? We can guess, but Rockstar won't confirm until they're good and ready.
I'm leaning toward waiting. The Pro isn't going anywhere, and if the enhancements are substantial, I'll grab one a week before launch. If it's just a minor bump, the base PS5 will do fine. Rockstar's silence is frustrating, but it's not unusual. They'll talk when they talk.
