The extended look finally pushed me to post this, because I keep seeing stuff that feels ripped straight from Red Dead 2. The story and characters are obviously new, so that's not my concern. I'm talking about the UI and some of the systems underneath.

RDR2 was a huge leap for Rockstar, and a big reason we waited so long for GTA 6. So it makes sense they'd build on that foundation instead of starting from scratch. But that also means GTA 6 might not blow past RDR2 the way RDR2 blew past GTA 5. It might just be the next step on the same ladder.

What got me was the opening scene in the apartments. Jason and Lucia step out of the elevator, walk up to the dog, and the interaction prompt is Pet / Scold / Study. That's the exact same tab Arthur gets with horses and pets. Then Jason approaches the woman who smashed into a car, and the stranger interaction prompt shows up, same as RDR2. Even the font and layout look identical, like they just ported it over.

Then there's the sense or tracker ability that's been confirmed but not shown in the extended look. First time in a GTA game, sounded cool until I remembered Arthur uses the same thing to track blood when hunting. So now I'm expecting the honor system, looting bodies, vitals like needing to eat, enterable buildings with jewelry and safes to rob. All of that feels like it's coming straight from Red Dead.

I'm not saying it'll be bad. I'll play the hell out of it either way. RDR2 is one of my favorite games ever. But I wanted to see if anyone else is picking up on this, or if I'm just overthinking a few UI elements.

Does seeing those familiar prompts and systems make you more excited or more worried that GTA 6 won't feel like its own thing?
