Lucia's high kick in Trailer 2 — could we get a real melee system?

So I was rewatching Trailer 2 for like the tenth time (who's counting) and something finally jumped out at me. There's that quick shot of Lucia in what looks like a fighting cage, throwing a high kick. At first I thought it was just a cinematic, but now I'm not so sure.

What if we can actually train hand-to-hand combat? Like, find underground fight clubs around Leonida and level up Lucia and Jason's melee skills. Sleeping Dogs had those martial arts clubs where you'd learn new moves, and it made the combat feel way more satisfying. GTA's never really gone that deep with unarmed fighting. RDR2 had some nice animations and the parry/counter system, but it was still pretty basic. You'd just mash a button and watch Arthur do his thing. No real progression or stat building.

That high kick in the trailer looks like a specific move, not just a random brawl animation. And the cage setting screams fight club or training. Maybe we'll actually have a strength stat that matters, or learn combos that change how fights play out. GTA IV had some cool melee moves, but they were mostly just different animations for the same button presses. I'm hoping they take it further this time.

What do you all think? Is this just a cinematic moment, or are we finally getting a proper melee system with some depth?

that kick looked too clean to be just a cutscene. if we get real melee i'm never using guns again lol
