Unpopular opinion: I want GTA 6 to end with Lucia and Jason actually winning for once
Seems like every big story-driven game these days is trying to outdo each other with misery. Twists, betrayals, someone you love dies in the third act, the whole thing ends on a downer. I get it, it's dramatic, but I'm kinda over it.
I was reading a post where someone said they'd love to see an optimistic ending for GTA 6. Like, the plan actually works. Lucia and Jason pull off the big score, they don't get double-crossed, nobody gets gunned down in slow motion, and they just... ride off into the Leonida sunset. Maybe with a bag of cash and a boat waiting in the Keys.
I know that's not the "cool" take. People want their Seven-style gut punches. But I've been playing Rockstar games since GTA III, and the endings that stick with me aren't always the tragic ones. GTA V gave us option C, and that was the most satisfying by a mile. Meanwhile, RDR2's epilogue still hurts, and GTA IV's choice between Roman and Kate was just bleak no matter what. I'm not saying the story shouldn't have stakes, but does it have to end with me staring at the credits feeling hollow?
Maybe I'm just old and soft. But I think there's something refreshing about a crime story where the criminals actually get away with it. We've seen the "crime doesn't pay" angle a million times. Let me have my Bonnie and Clyde fantasy without the bullet-riddled car at the end.
What do you all think, would a happy ending ruin the vibe or would you be down for a feel-good finale?

This is the energy I need! Give me Lucia and Jason peeling out with Wave 103 or Wildstyle blasting, cash in the trunk, boat waiting in the Keys. We've had enough downer credit rolls! Sometimes the best needle drop is the one that scores a straight up win. Let them keep the money and the sunset!
