Safehouse customization needs to be a thing in GTA 6

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. We spend so much time in our safe houses, and right now in GTA Online it's basically just picking a preset interior and maybe adding a few decorations. That's it. Meanwhile, we can spend hours tweaking every inch of a car, changing the seats, the steering wheel, the engine, the horn. Why can't we do that with our homes?

Imagine walking into a furniture store in Vice City, buying a couch, and actually placing it where you want. Or better yet, stealing one from a mansion in the Keys and hauling it back to your apartment. Games like Hogwarts Legacy let you completely transform a room, and even WoW has had housing for ages. Rockstar could absolutely pull this off with the level of detail they're known for.

I'm not saying we need full-on Sims mode, but give us something. Let us change the layout, pick the color of the walls, move the TV. Maybe you find unique items during missions that you can display. A painting from a heist, a weird statue from a stranger mission. It would make your safehouse feel like yours, not just a spawn point with a garage attached.

GTA Online already dipped a toe in with the casino penthouse and some of the apartments, but it's all very rigid. You pick from a menu and the whole room changes. I want to drag a chair across the floor and have it stay there. I want to knock over a lamp during a fight and have to replace it. Little things like that would make the world feel so much more alive.

And with the new setting in Leonida, there's so much potential. Imagine a rundown motel room you can fix up over time, or a beach house where you can actually arrange the deck furniture. It's the kind of feature that doesn't need to be front and center, but it would add a ton of depth for players who care about that stuff. Rockstar already proved they can do insane detail with RDR2's camp system. Just let us do it ourselves this time.

Safehouses in past GTAs always felt like narrative rewards. Taking over Diaz's mansion in Vice City was a mission beat, not a decor choice. I'm worried that dragging furniture around turns that cinematic staging into a sandbox distraction.

But tie it to completion and I'm on board. Finish every heist side mission, unlock a unique trophy for the shelf. 100% a district, get a commemorative item. It becomes a visual completion log instead of a shopping list.

Just don't turn the apartment into a UI nightmare. I want to walk in and see proof of what Lucia and I actually finished. I don't need to spend twenty minutes fighting a lamp into the corner.

thats the hook right there. on RP servers your crib is basically your character sheet. being able to drop a beat-up couch or a stolen street sign matters way more than preset penthouses. just dont make the placement feel like a mobile game with a grid. let me clip stuff slightly crooked and messy. thats where the real flavor is.

I don't care about Feng Shui. I care about whether my safehouse has a proper gear bench.

1. Wall mounts for long guns so I can see the loadout before a job. A planning table with the actual heist map spread out. Maybe a board where Lucia pins photos of targets. That's the stuff that matters when you're prepping a score.

2. Decor's fine but make it functional. Let me park a getaway car in a hidden garage below a Keys shack. Let Jason stash extra armor in the closet.

3. That angle works. Turn trophies into intel. A stolen necklace on the shelf should boost rep with certain buyers. Pretty is secondary.

4. Keep the UI tight. I don't want to spend twenty minutes rotating a lamp. I want to brief the crew and roll out.
