jason only seems comfortable when someone's shooting at him

Watching the trailers and the extended look again, something about Jason keeps nagging at me. In any normal social scene he comes off kind of flat. Awkward, even. Like he doesn't know what to do with his hands when Lucia is talking to people.

But the second a gunfight or a heist kicks off, he's a completely different person. Hyper focused. Calm. Almost like the chaos is the only thing that makes sense to him.

His dialogue is way more muted than Lucia's too. She's loud, expressive, all over the place. Jason barely says anything unless he has to. He's not the typical strong silent type. It feels like he genuinely struggles with regular conversation.

Could be PTSD from whatever military background Rockstar hinted at. Hypervigilance would explain a lot. But I also wonder if they're writing him as neurodivergent in some way. We've never really had a GTA protagonist like that before, and Rockstar has been pretty deliberate with Lucia and Jason's dynamic.

Compared to guys like Niko or Arthur, Jason's social awkwardness feels way more pronounced. The hyper focus is what stood out to me the most. He switches into a completely different mode once things go loud.

I'm not trying to diagnose a fictional character, just saying the contrast is really noticeable. The way he locks in during high stress moments versus how lost he looks at a casual hangout. That's a specific choice, not an accident.

Anyone else pick up on this or am I reading too much into a few seconds of footage?
