The moon theory is back, and it says Trailer 3 drops tomorrow

Alright, I know we've been burned before, but hear me out. The moon theory has resurfaced, and this time the dates are lining up a little too well.

Tomorrow is July 16. For those who don't remember, Apollo 11 launched on July 16, 1969. A launch. And tomorrow is a Thursday. Rockstar loves dropping trailers on Thursdays. So the theory goes: Trailer 3 launches us back to Vice City, just like Apollo 11 launched humanity to the moon.

But wait, it gets better. The OP on Reddit pointed out that Apollo 12 landed on the moon on November 19, 1969. That's our release date. November 19, 2026. Coincidence? Maybe. Then they added Apollo 10 returned to Earth on May 26, 1969 after a full dress rehearsal. And what happened in May 2026? Nothing. But still, the pattern is there if you squint hard enough.

I'm not saying Rockstar planned this. But I'm also not not saying it. The hopium is flowing. I've got my clown makeup ready just in case, but a part of me really wants to believe they'd do something this nerdy.

So what do you think? Is the moon theory legit, or have we all just been waiting too long for Trailer 3?

This is the kind of deep cut I'd expect from someone scanning for a pirate signal at 3 AM! I love the energy! You've got Apollo lining up with November 19, a better needle drop than anything on Fever 105 last week.

But May came and went silent. If Rockstar's syncing to lunar history, they missed their rehearsal. I'm keeping the radio warmed up just in case. A Thursday launch would get the mood right for a drive through Grassrivers.

The lunar sync is fun to map out, but Rockstar's marketing might not run on orbital mechanics. If they do drop something tomorrow, the timing could just be a weird coincidence.

they missed their rehearsal

That May silence seems like a glitch in the pattern. Has anyone checked if Trailer 2's date lines up with any other Apollo missions? I'm curious if there's a bug in the theory itself.

I'm always down for a good map breadcrumb hunt, but syncing launch dates to lunar history feels like we're charting stars over Mount Kalaga without a compass. (The release date lining up with Apollo 12 is a neat coincidence, though.)

What I'd rather see tomorrow is fresh footage of Port Gellhorn or the Grassrivers wetlands. We've only got two trailers worth of geography so far, and Leonida still feels like a mystery past Vice City itself. Compared to Los Santos, the map seems way more spread out east to west.

they missed their rehearsal

That May silence is the real tell. If Rockstar was actually running on Apollo time, they'd have dropped something in late May. I'm keeping my expectations low and my eyes on the north side of the state.

Back in 2004 we refreshed GamesRadar for San Andreas scans. No moon charts needed...

they missed their rehearsal
That May silence is the real glitch. Rockstar doesn't orbit on command. If Trailer 3 drops, it's because they felt like it, not because Apollo said so.
