watch mechanic could tie into the new cop response times

Saw the watch on Jason's wrist in the footage and kept thinking about it. Not sure if this got brought up already, but I wanted to throw out an idea.

Rockstar seems to be hinting that time matters more this time around, especially with the new cop response system. They won't just spawn around the corner anymore, so after an alarm goes off there's an actual window before they show up. What if the watch ties into that?

I don't think it'll be some crazy smartwatch with GPS or anything. We'll probably be able to buy different watches, some just cosmetic, some with a compass or the time. But the useful part could be a quick button to check a stopwatch during a robbery. One press, Jason glances at his wrist, and you get a small watch face in the corner showing the current time plus a countdown until cops arrive. Maybe a store job gives you roughly two minutes of in game time, and bigger scores give you more or less depending on the location.

That would make every robbery a tradeoff. You could ignore the timer and grab more loot, but the odds of running into a cruiser on the way out go up. Or you bail early and leave cash on the table. It'd add some tension without being a full menu system.

If the military background rumor about Jason is real, he'd probably actually use a watch instead of treating it like jewelry. And in first person, if you can rotate the watch face inward while holding a weapon, that would be a nice touch. I'm also expecting a simpler version of the RDR2 watch check, just hold a button instead of digging through menus.

Would you actually use a timer like that during heists, or would it just become background noise after a while?
