Only 8 characters officially named so far, and the split is pretty telling
Been digging through everything Rockstar's put out and it's kinda wild. For a game this massive, they've only confirmed 8 characters by name. Jason and Lucia obviously, plus six others. All those nicknames floating around like Hammer Lady and Selfie Guy? Pure community creations, not official.
What's interesting is how those 8 break down. You've got the Keys crew: Jason, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton. That whole sun-bleached, drug-running, coast guard radio paranoia vibe. Then there's the Vice City nightlife side: Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez. Music, clubs, the strip club to recording studio hustle.
And then Raul Bautista just sitting there in the middle, not really fitting either group. His official bio mentions a "big score" and he's a professional bank robber. Feels like he's the one who pulls Jason and Lucia out of the Keys world and into whatever the main plot actually is. The bridge character.
Still no official villain either. That corrupt detective everyone keeps talking about? Pure trailer speculation at this point. Rockstar hasn't named anyone like that.
I'm not saying this is confirmed plot structure or anything, but Rockstar doesn't just name 8 characters by accident. The two-worlds split feels intentional. Raul being the odd one out makes me think he's way more important than he seems right now.

I hadn't realized the official count was that low, but the split does seem intentional. I'm mostly curious if the Keys crew and Vice City sides correspond to different physics regions under the hood. Could the more open island spaces use looser collision checks than the dense city blocks? Might be totally wrong.
Raul being the odd one out makes me wonder if his bank heists introduce their own mechanical sandbox. Vault doors, getaway vehicle loading, maybe unique interior physics that don't apply to the rest of the map. That stuff usually spawns the weirdest collision bugs.
Has anyone spotted Raul in the same frame as Dre'Quan or Boobie in the May trailer? I can't recall seeing them together. Might mean nothing, might mean Rockstar's keeping the two circles separate until later.
