The Stanier taxi in the teaser has me hoping for proper taxi side missions
Saw that shot of the 1955 Vapid Stanier from the June teasers and immediately thought taxi. The livery, the roof sign, it's all there. And it got me thinking about what Rockstar might do with taxi work this time around.
In IV, Roman could send fares your way, which was a nice little touch. V had the odd taxi side mission where you'd pick someone up and suddenly you're in a chase or protecting them from something. But it never felt fully fleshed out. I'm really hoping VI takes it further, especially with the scale of the map they're building.
Imagine a proper taxi business you can run in single player, maybe tied to the story or just as a side hustle. Pick up fares, get rated, unlock better vehicles or customisation. And online, it could be a whole role. Drive people around, deal with random events like robberies or car trouble, maybe even compete with other players for the best routes. The map's got Vice City, the Keys, Grassrivers, so there's plenty of variety in where you'd be driving.
I don't want it to be just a minigame you do once and forget. If they put as much thought into it as they did with the hunting or bounty hunting in RDR2, it could be a really chill way to explore the world and make some cash. Fingers crossed they don't sleep on it.

I'm all for taxi work if it lets us explore Leonida properly. Just don't let it be minigame we forget after one try.
minigame we forget after one try
This... so much this.
Back in VC you could actually make money driving fares and it felt like part of the world. IV and V kept watering it down. If VI lets us really run a cab around Leonida, maybe even build a small fleet, that's depth we haven't seen since 2004.

Hard agree. But real talk if that Stanier ain't getting a V8 swap and a drift kit I don't even care about the fares. Let us throw some deep dish steelies and a cage in there. Taxi work is cool but the CAR needs to be OURS.
I like the idea of running a cab company but I barely have time to drive my own kids around let alone manage a fleet of NPCs.
What I actually need is fares that pay real money without turning into a shootout every other ride. V's taxi missions always gave you chump change. If I'm burning my one hour of free time shuttling some tourist across Grassrivers I want to see actual profit on the meter.

That's the real danger right there. Give the job some progression and a reason to stay in the cab. And sure let us tune the suspension or throw in a faster engine. I wouldn't say no to extra horsepower for those long Leonida highway runs.
