I want GTA 6's map to feel like a proper road trip, not just a quick drive
That mission in V where Trevor drives from Sandy Shores all the way down to Los Santos still sticks with me. The radio's on, the scenery changes, and even though the map isn't actually that huge, it felt like a real journey. I'm hoping Leonida cranks that up to eleven.
I keep seeing people say a massive map would just be empty space, but I don't buy it. RDR2's world was enormous and it never felt dead, there was always something to stumble into. If GTA 6's map is even bigger than that, and all the rumors point that way, we could get actual road trips between Vice City and places like Port Gellhorn or the Keys. Flying a plane out of the airport would finally feel like you're covering real distance, not just buzzing over a few blocks.
I'm not asking for a boring commute, obviously. But that sense of scale, where you have to commit to a drive and the world changes around you, that's what I'm chasing. The extended look later this month might give us a hint, but I'm trying not to overanalyze every frame.
Do you think Rockstar's actually going to make the map that big, or are we hyping ourselves up for something more compact?
