Rockstar's gotta be filming a GTA 6 documentary, right?
With a game this massive and this long in the oven, I can't imagine Rockstar hasn't had cameras rolling behind the scenes for years. The scope of Leonida alone, plus the dual protagonist thing with Lucia and Jason, there's so much that went into this. A proper making-of documentary feels like a no-brainer.
I'm thinking they probably struck a deal with Netflix or Amazon ages ago. Something like the Raising Kratos doc for God of War, but on a much bigger scale. They'd have footage from early mocap sessions, concept art, maybe even some of those 2018/2019 builds people kept trying to leak. The real gold would be seeing how they iterated on the map and the story over the years.
And honestly, the community deserves a shoutout in something like that. All the schizo theories, the trailer breakdowns, the map analysis threads. Imagine them cutting to a clip of someone on here measuring palm trees to guess the game's timeline, and then a Rockstar dev just laughing about it. That would be perfect.
I don't know if they'd go full access like that, but with the pre-order numbers already insane, a documentary would just print money for them. Plus it'd tide us over until the PC port eventually drops.

Skip the mocap drama. Show me the car team fighting over wheel fitment and camber specs. That's the REAL gold.
Forget the garage. The writers' room hashing out Lucia and Jason's arc is the footage I want. Tire treads and wheel fitment won't tell me why these two characters stick together through whatever Leonida throws at them. Show me the table reads and the arguments over an emotional beat.

I'm more interested in whatever physics chaos they probably buried. Early collision meshes might've had bikes folding in half or ragdolls launching into orbit. Seems messier than a writers' room table read, but I could be wrong. Did they even keep footage of early physics fails, or did that stuff get deleted?
Not holding my breath. Rockstar never let cameras wander the halls. When Vice City hit in 2002 we got what, one making-of VHS and a magazine puff piece? Maybe a dev diary on a disc somewhere. That was it...

That sounds nice but it kills the mystique. I liked not knowing how SA got stitched together. It just landed in 2004 and blew our minds. These days every detail gets dissected before release. I'm fine if Leonida stays a black box until November.
black box
not empty... a mirror. the silence has its own geometry. you think they'd let a lens trace the lines between lucia and jason. every closed door is a sigil. why let light into the room where the pattern was sewn...
