RDR2's weather was crazy, I hope GTA 6 gets dynamic hurricanes

I was replaying RDR2 the other day and got caught in a thunderstorm up in the Grizzlies. Lightning struck a tree maybe 20 feet from Arthur and I just sat there for a second. That game had blizzards that actually felt cold, sandstorms in New Austin that reduced visibility to nothing, and that thick fog in the bayou where you'd half expect Night Folk to jump out. Even hail, which I've only seen twice in hundreds of hours. All of that on last-gen hardware.

So now I'm thinking about Leonida. Vice City, the Keys, the swamps, Port Gellhorn. A state that's basically built for wild weather. I know it's a long shot but dynamic hurricanes would be incredible. Not just a scripted mission set piece, but something that can roll in while you're free roaming. Palm trees bending, debris flying, NPCs boarding up windows or panicking. Just Cause 4 did tornados pretty well and that was the whole gimmick of the game. Rockstar could do it better without even making it the main event.

I'm not expecting a full weather sim, but if they can make a thunderstorm feel as alive as RDR2's and then crank it up for the occasional tropical storm, I'll be happy. The map's got so much water and coastline, imagine trying to outrun a storm in a boat or seeing the ocean get rough. November can't come soon enough.

RDR2 set a high bar. I'm at 98% completion and those Grizzlies blizzards catch me off guard during supply runs. If Leonida gets half that pressure, it'll change freeroam navigation.

Dynamic hurricanes as a freeroam event would be a mission designer's dream and a completionist's nightmare. Imagine a Grassrivers boat delivery with a storm rolling in. I'd welcome it. Rockstar already proved weather can be mechanical with RDR2's opening. Remember how Enter, Pursued by a Memory forced you to manage stamina through deep snow? That's stakes, not scenery. GTA V's rain affected traction too. Scaling that up for tropical systems, maybe forcing you to delay a heist setup until conditions clear, adds tension without a cutscene.

My only worry is the 100% checklist. If a storm locks you out of a side activity, that's frustrating. But keep it rare and it stays novel. November feels far.

Vice City '02 had rain that felt like a texture swap. Give me a Leonida hurricane that snaps palm trees and I'm sold.
